What is Paracentesis?
Paracentesis is a procedure in which Dr.Ahmed removes excess fluid that has accumulated in the abdomen.

Why is Paracentesis done?
This can be done to diagnose a problem, or to help with symptoms from the fluid collection itself. A diagnostic paracentesis is done to help determine the cause of fluid buildup in the abdomen.

What is an ERCP with manometry?
This is an endoscopic procedure used to evaluate the ducts of the gallbladder, liver and pancreas, and determine the pressure of the Sphincter of Oddi, the muscle that is at the end of those ducts. A small catheter is placed into the bile duct during the procedure.

What is an EUS?

Endoscopic ultrasound is a minimally invasive imaging procedure that Dr. Ahmed performs. An endoscope is inserted into the mouth or rectum, and ultrasound is performed internally to image portions of the digestive tract and surrounding tissues and organs.

What is Interstim?

What is flexible sigmoidoscopy?

This 10 minute procedure allows Dr. Ahmed to examine the lining of the rectum and a portion of the colon (large intestine) by inserting a flexible tube about the thickness of your finger into the anus and slowly advancing it into the rectum and lower part of the colon.

What is an ERCP? 
An ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) is a study of the ducts that drain the liver and pancreas.  Ducts are drainage routes from organs into the bowel.  The ones that drain the liver and gallbladder are called bile or biliary ducts.  The one that drains the pancreas is called the pancreatic duct.
